Scripture: “… Jacob shall return, have rest and be quiet, And no one shall make him afraid.”Jeremiah 30:10b(NKJV)

God’s promise of rest is also a promise of freedom from fear. Israel had experienced captivity, uncertainty and distress, yet God declared that a time was coming when Jacob would return, have rest and be quiet, and no one would make him afraid. This means the presence of rest does not have to be accompanied by the expectation of another disaster. God can bring you into a season where your heart is settled because your confidence is in Him.

Sometimes the greatest enemy of rest is not what is happening around us but what we are expecting to happen next. After prolonged battles, the heart can become accustomed to danger. Even when the storm stops, the mind keeps listening for thunder. But God says, “Do not fear… do not be dismayed.” You don’t have to carry yesterday’s trauma into today’s testimony. The God who delivered you from captivity can also teach your heart how to enjoy freedom.

Therefore, receive the grace to rest without fear. You can sleep without rehearsing tomorrow’s problems. You can build without expecting everything to collapse. You can rejoice without wondering when the joy will end. Your confidence is not in the permanence of circumstances but in the faithfulness of God. There is a rest where fear loses its voice and faith becomes louder.

I Declare: I will rest without fear. My heart is settled in God. I will not be afraid of tomorrow, nor be dismayed by what I cannot control. God is preserving me, guiding me and watching over all that concerns me. I enter a season of quietness, confidence and divine rest.
