Scripture: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”Matthew 11:28 NKJV
Rest is not merely a place, a season, a position or the absence of trouble. Rest is a Person; Jesus Christ. Jesus did not say, “Come to Me and I will give you a trouble free life.” He said, “Come to Me… and I will give you rest.” This means true rest is found only in relationship with Him. You can be in a storm and still have peace when Christ is with you.
Many people are waiting for their circumstances to change before they can rest. They believe they will rest when the bills are paid, the opposition stops, the opportunity comes, or the problem is resolved. But biblical rest begins before the circumstances change. It comes from trusting the One who is greater than the circumstances. When Jesus becomes your resting place, anxiety loses its authority, fear loses its voice, and your heart learns to remain anchored even when life is moving around you.
Come to Jesus with the burdens you have been carrying. Come with your questions, disappointments, responsibilities, fears, and weariness. You were never designed to carry everything by yourself. The answer to a weary soul is not always a changed circumstance; sometimes it is a deeper encounter with Christ. When you have Him, you have a place to rest.
I DECLARE: Jesus is my rest. I refuse to carry what I was never created to carry. My heart is anchored in Christ, and I receive His peace, strength, and grace for every season. I will not be controlled by anxiety, fear, or pressure. In Christ, my soul finds rest.
