Scripture:”Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19 (NKJV)
Jesus did not save us to live intimidated and defeated by the powers that oppose God’s kingdom purpose. He gave His disciples and whoever will believe in His name authority over the enemy. The imagery of trampling upon snakes and scorpions speaks of victory, dominion, and the defeat of opposition and deception. The believer’s confidence is not in human strength but in the authority of Jesus Christ. We do not confront darkness as helpless people; we do so as legal law enforcement agents of Zion, and we stand in the victory Christ has already secured.
However, spiritual authority is not a license for arrogance, show or reckless confrontation. It is exercised through faith, obedience, prayer, God’s Word, and submission to Christ. Jesus told His disciples to rejoice not merely because demons were subject to them, but because their names were written in heaven. Our greatest victory is not what we can overcome, but who we believe and belong to.
Therefore, do not allow fear to dictate your response to spiritual opposition. Stand firm in Christ. Every power contrary to God’s purpose must bow to the superior authority of Jesus. What once intimidated you will become an opportunity to demonstrate the victory of Christ.
I Declare: I walk in the authority Jesus Christ has given me. I will not live in fear of the enemy. Every opposition against God’s purpose for my life is overcome through the power and authority of Christ.
