Scripture: 2 Peter 1:4 NKJV
“By which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature…”
There is such a reality of partakers of the divine nature. God did not save us merely to give us a place in heaven; He desires that His nature be expressed through our lives even here on earth. Through Christ, we become partakers of the divine nature. This does not mean that we become God, but that His life, character, and qualities begin to shape who we are. The more we know Him and walk with Him, the more His nature should become visible in our thoughts, attitudes, choices, and relationships.
The nature of God is reflected in love, purity, truth, mercy, goodness, faithfulness, and righteousness. When God’s nature is being formed in us, our old patterns cannot remain in control. We begin to love differently, forgive differently, serve differently, respond differently, and conduct ourselves differently. Christianity is more than attending church or carrying a Christian identity; it is allowing Christ to transform our character from the inside out.
This is why spiritual growth matters. The goal is not simply to accumulate Scripture, gifts, titles, or experiences, but to become increasingly like Christ. What is dwelling within you will eventually find expression through you. As you yield to the Holy Spirit, the nature of God becomes increasingly evident in your life, and your life becomes a testimony of what His grace can produce
I Declare: I am a partaker of the divine nature through Christ. God’s character is being formed in me. I walk in love, truth, holiness, mercy, faithfulness, and righteousness. My thoughts, words, decisions, and relationships increasingly reflect the nature of Christ. I am becoming more like Him every day.
