Scripture:
“And Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son and named him Seth, ‘For God has appointed another seed for me instead of Abel, whom Cain killed.’” Genesis 4:25 (NKJV)
There are moments when loss seems to have the final word. Adam and Eve had lost Abel, and their future appeared shattered. Yet Genesis 4:25 begins with a powerful reminder: “again.” Where pain tried to end their story, God began a new chapter. Seth was not merely another son; he was evidence that God’s purpose had not been cancelled.
This passage reveals that when God is involved, loss is never the end of the story. Eve acknowledged her pain but also recognized God’s appointment. The enemy may destroy opportunities, delay progress, or wound your heart, but he cannot overturn God’s plan. The God who gave Seth after sorrow is still able to bring new beginnings after disappointment.
Whatever you have lost, do not believe it is over. Build your life around what God is doing now, not around what is gone. As long as God is still speaking, there is still hope. He is able to appoint another opportunity, another season, and another testimony for His glory.
I Declare: It is not over for me. God is appointing a new season, a new beginning, and a new testimony. What was lost will not nullify God’s purpose for my life. I will rise again by the grace of God.
