Scripture: “For indeed, when we came to Macedonia, our bodies had no rest, but we were troubled on every side. Outside were conflicts, inside were fears.” 2 Corinthians 7:5 (NKJV)
Most times our lives does not always go as planned. Sometimes, problems come from every direction, and even when we try to stay strong, fear and worry creep into our hearts. The apostle Paul experienced this too. Despite his faith and commitment to God, he faced conflicts around him and fears within him. This teaches us that being a person of faith does not mean you will never face difficult moments.
Sometimes, the problem around you is difficult enough, but the fear inside you makes it even harder. You may be worried about your family, finances, work, ministry or future. You may smile in public while struggling privately. But you don’t have to pretend that everything is fine. Talk to God about what you are going through, seek help when you need it, and keep trusting Him even when you don’t have all the answers.
The good news is that Paul’s story did not end with conflict and fear. In the following verses, he explains how God comforted him through the coming of Titus. God can also bring comfort to you through His Word, His presence and the people He places in your life. Your present struggle does not mean you have been forgotten. Even when life gives you reasons to worry, God can give you strength to keep going and peace to face another day.
I Declare: I am not alone in my struggles. God strengthens me, comforts my heart and gives me grace to overcome every challenge.
