Scripture: 1 Kings 5:4b NKJV

“There is neither adversary nor evil occurrence.”

Solomon entered a season where the atmosphere around him was remarkably different. After years of warfare under David, he could testify that God had given him rest on every side; there was neither adversary nor evil occurrence. This reminds us that God is able to bring His people into seasons where opposition is subdued and peace becomes the prevailing atmosphere. You may have known seasons of constant pressure, but pressure does not have to define every chapter of your life.

There is a difference between having challenges and living under constant adversity. Solomon was not without responsibility; he still had a great assignment to fulfill. But he was no longer spending all his energy fighting battles that prevented him from building. God had created an environment in which the assignment could advance. Sometimes the greatest breakthrough is not another victory in battle, it is entering a season where you finally have the peace and stability to build what God has called you to build.

May you recognize and steward your season of rest. Don’t allow the memories of yesterday’s battles to make you expect tomorrow’s trouble. Build with wisdom, walk in obedience, protect your peace, and remain dependent on God. The same God who sustained you through seasons of opposition can establish you in seasons of peace.

I Declare: The Lord is giving me rest on every side. I receive grace to build without unnecessary opposition and to walk in the peace God has ordained for me. I will not be governed by fear of bad news or yesterday’s battles. My heart is established in God, and I will fulfill my assignment in peace.
